London Design Festival 2017 – Cobus Round Up

Welcome to London Design Festival 2017’s highlights tour!

Back in 2003, Sir John Sorrell and Ben Evans conceived an idea to promote the UK capital’s world-leading creative and design activity. The annual London Design Festival was born. What began as a small event with just a few unofficial happenings across the city, has grown into one of the largest design-led events in the world. Despite being replicated in many other major cities, London is still one the largest, and most popular design festivals.

On the bill

During the festival there are over 400 different projects and events being staged across the whole of London. From large-scale trade fairs to small, intimate gallery viewings the range of activities is certainly varied. Over 300 different artists and companies get involved in exhibiting and the atmosphere couldn’t be better.

We’ve been so inspired by what we saw over the week. We can’t wait to start incorporating some of the new trends, features and brands we encountered into our client’s #InspiringSpaces.

Having packed in a wide variety of events across the week, here are some of our highlights…

Design Frontiers

Hosted at Somerset House from Sept 18th – 24th, Design Frontiers is a collection of small exhibitions from 30 international designers, all recognised for their progressive approaches to design. From luxury jewellers, to automotive, fashion, furniture and tech, the sectors are all different – the commonality is a desire to create something new, and game-changing. We saw some incredible designs on our visit and learnt some remarkable things – such as Jaguar still hand-carve their car models, from clay, by hand! We were also thrilled to see one of our #PerfectPartners, Allermuir, there with a stunningly designed exhibition space…

Roll on #LDF2018

There was just so much to see this year we simply can’t share it all in pictures. Do take a look at our Instagram feed for more of what we saw. It has been yet another bumper year at #LDF2017 and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.

Thanks to the organisers and everyone who took part for making it such an inspirational week.
