Our latest project: Dyball Associates

Founded in 1995 by Andrew Dyball, Dyball Associates offers software and consultancy services to the UK Electricity and Gas market. Having recently moved to larger offices, the Dyball team were in need of a complete refurbishment of their new space.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Dyball, creating a new, vibrant workspace for the employees. We’ve since spoken to our co-ordinator, Chloe, about her experience of working on the project.

When did you start working on the project, and how long did it take?

We started working on the project on 9th September 2019, and it took six weeks to complete.

Can you tell us a bit more about what the project involved?

Dyball’s office was a new and empty space, so we took the opportunity to create a breakout area on the first floor. This involved installing a partitioning wall and floor-to-ceiling glass, which offers privacy as well as an aesthetic element. The brief also required us to fit a tall table with bar stools and a kitchen area on the second floor, for which we laid wooden effect flooring – this helped to define the area.

Both of the breakout areas needed new kitchens, flooring, decorations and furniture; we provided and fitted everything that was needed for these spaces. We also worked on the larger breakout area downstairs, in which we fitted a kitchen bar, chairs and a seating area.

We were also required to provide desks and chairs for the open-plan desk area, the office and the boardrooms. Additionally, we removed the partition walls of an existing office, which we then used to create a chill-out area. This now features a variety of comfortable seating options and space for a games console.

We also worked to create a reception area, as well as a curved reception desk. On the second floor, we installed comfortable sofas into another chill-out area, and painted the outer walls in one of the brand colours. We added manifestations to the glass, and fitted their logo onto the 1st floor boardroom wall, the entrance area and the chill-out areas on both floors.

What went particularly well?

I would say the fitting of the breakout area went particularly well. The partitions to create the area were installed quickly, along with the flooring, which made a great difference to the office space.

What’s been your favourite part of working on the project?

I enjoyed seeing the transformation from the empty space to a colourful, user friendly, bright and comfortable office.

Did you face any challenges? If so, how did you overcome them as a team?

Whilst working on-site with the plumber, we came across a small problem – but, from working together as a team, we created a new plan of action, which worked perfectly.
