The Education Show 2016
Creating the perfect education environment.
Each year I have the opportunity to visit The Education Show up at the NEC, Birmingham. The show has not only been a great opportunity to catch up with suppliers, it is also vital for keeping in touch with the latest trends within the education sector. Since 2009 I have built up relationships with a wide variety of suppliers that have worked with Cobus Spaces on a variety of projects within all educational environments including; nurseries, primary schools, boarding schools, secondary schools independent schools, colleges and universities. By experiencing the products first hand I am able to provide accurate advice from my personal experience rather than relying on what catalogues or marketing may convey.
Through the past seven years I have witnessed the growth within the education sector and the diversification of the furniture which these spaces require. We have welcomed the introduction of a wider variety of colours, matching ranges, textures and easy clean products. Due to the vast amounts of research now available describing how children learn, manufacturers are now looking to promote good posture and exceptional comfort as part of their ranges. Chairs have now been developed to minimise components, reducing risk of fixings falling loose, entrapment and hard to clean crevices. As well as changes to seating solutions, Teachers walls have really taken off. These units allow teachers to have bespoke storage and presentation systems that combine shelves, cupboards and tray units with the, now essential, smartboard. All of these solutions provide a brighter, cleaner, safer and more dynamic place of learning.
One product that really stood out to me was the EN one piece chair from Spaceforme. A very interesting chair and I think it will be a popular chair in the future. It is light weight yet extremely strong and has excellent stacking facility. Another thing that caught my eye was the Kit For Kids stand. Bright and colourful, I am very much looking forward to specifying their products within nurseries and infants schools.
All in all a fantastic day out and definitely energised me for all your summer projects!
