South Staffordshire Water, a UK water supply company serving the midlands, looked to Cobus to create a multifunctional space. Their existing canteen had become dated and unused, so the brief was to create a modern workspace with a quirky design that would attract and retain talent, whilst improving staff wellbeing.

Utilising the existing open plan space, Cobus incorporated multiple working areas to support a transition to a more agile way of working. A variety of meeting spaces catering for one-to-ones, group huddles or brainstorming sessions were created in the space. In addition, a kitchenette and refreshment zone were incorporated into the design.

South Staffordshire wanted to preserve their original parquet flooring that ran through a large proportion of the space. The design team complimented this with a contemporary stone effect with feature carpet areas creating natural zones within the space.

It resulted in a stunning communal space, providing the staff at South Staffordshire Water a variety of workstations to support their working day.
