Following a recommendation from a loyal national client, a confidential retailer approached Cobus to transform its 14,000 sq ft workplace in Exeter. Set across three floors, the existing space needed to work harder for both employees and visitors. The brief was to create an inspiring environment that would support productivity and wellbeing while giving clients a more engaging showroom and experience centre. Working to an eight-week programme, we delivered the project in time for the team to move in during the first week of June. A key part of the design process was rethinking the location of the kitchens and client-facing areas, creating a more natural flow through the building and ensuring each space was positioned around how it would be used. These included a client restaurant on the ground floor and a series of collaborative areas within the first-floor office. The client’s personality runs throughout the finished workplace, brought to life through the colour palette and considered, sustainable finishes.
