Following a shift to remote working, confidential GlobalEd appointed Cobus to deliver a fit-out in central Cardiff, downsizing from 70,000 sq ft to a more efficient, strategically located workspace.
Fusion Point 1, located in the heart of Cardiff, offered excellent transport links and local amenities. Their new workspace design, balances functionality with warmth, while maintaining strict budgetary constraints. The design introduced homely breakout areas, a biophilic café with soft organic shapes, and a dedicated Zen Garden for quiet retreat. Executive-style meeting rooms with dark, warm tones and acoustic curtains created a professional yet welcoming environment for guests. The layout was carefully considered to work with existing HVAC systems, and furniture reuse was maximised: reupholstering chairs and replacing table tops to align with the new aesthetic.
The ground floor was designed to accommodate visiting examiners and meetings, while the upper level supports day-to-day staff activity. The project was delivered ahead of schedule, allowing GlobalEd’s IT teams ample time to install infrastructure before the September move-in. The result is a flexible, efficient workplace that reflects GlobalEd’s values and supports their evolving way of working.
