Omega

Space Design & Fit-Out

We recently worked on a project with Omega, an award-winning recruitment company. The brief that we received involved completely refurbishing their existing washrooms, showers, kitchen and social areas.

The refurbishment took place at the company’s Bonds Mill Stonehouse HQ. We installed brand new ladies’ and gents’ washrooms with built in showers as well as a completely new social collaboration area. This area had a new kitchen and staff restroom along with a central new tea-point area.

The renovation also included the plumbing of two bean-to-cup coffee machines and unique Billi chilled and boiling water dispensers - which eliminated the need for multiple water coolers and kettles.

We then finished the project by fitting a new carpet and brightly coloured window blinds. The project took a total of 8 weeks to complete and was finalised in January 2018.

Despite the success of the refurbishment, we did encounter a few challenges along the way. Omega is situated in Bond’s Mill, which was formerly one of the major woollen mills in the Stroud Valleys. These historic mill buildings are one of the region’s most unique business estates, offering versatile office accommodation. This presented us with the challenge of having to work with a sympathetic approach, as we were working with a very old building.

Some of the internal walls were 600mm thick and the original heating pipes were 4 times the size of today’s services!

All in all, the team at Cobus found this a great project to be involved in.
