We recently worked with the south west’s largest investments firm on a project to transform their new office. Fast outgrowing their current building and looking at taking extra office space, the firm tasked Cobus with coming up with some design schemes, which included a bespoke flooring design, and costs for the project.

The brief we received was to create a space in line with their company values that would motivate their staff. Another important element was meeting the tight time-scale to allow the client to move in on time.

We worked very closely with the client during the initial stages, responded to requests and queries quickly and were flexible in our approach to the project. This meant we were able to understand what the client really wanted and, after multiple designs, Cobus were awarded the contract. The client was confident that we could fit out the space to high standard in a short space of time.

The first phase of the project involved stripping the space to an empty shell. From here, the projects team coordinated the installation of the flooring, partition walls, kitchens, manifestations and graphics, blinds, furniture, modification of the raised floor and decorations as well as overseeing the client’s contractors for the installation of the M&E, fire safety and security systems.

The furniture specification included desking and table systems from Cobus’ own Pitch and Poiz ranges, Frovi Era stools and Ilk chairs and Senator Phoulds chairs and Brummel sofas.

Once the installation was complete, the Cobus team assisted with the move, labelling up all desks, pedestals, IT and personal crates and relocating to the new office. This reduced the amount of disruption and ensured that the space was ready to use and fully functioning on the day of the move.

A lot of time went into planning the project to ensure every aspect was covered when the project started. There were a few minor challenges along the way however Cobus were able to deal with them quickly and efficiently, so they didn’t impact the overall program of works.

Our design and projects team and the client worked very closely to achieve the finished result, a fantastic space which has received positive feedback from the client and the teams that are working in the space.

This was also a new record for Cobus in providing dilapidations and fit-out of a 12,000 square foot office!
