Hartpury College Student Café

Fit-Out

After successfully refitting and revamping the college’s popular Graze restaurant, our new brief in the summer of 2017 was to smarten the Red & Black’s Café in order to bring it up to scratch. As is usually the case when one flagship space has had an impressive makeover, other spaces benefit from a revamp too, particularly to keep standards consistent where a contrast has emerged. In this instance, the client wanted a space that would impress visiting prospective students and their parents – somewhere that looked good but was also modern, comfortable and completely fit for purpose.

Working to a tight budget we used our creativity and resourcing to perform a quick refresh where some small and subtle changes made a surprisingly big difference. We specified stylish new stools, sofas and dining chairs to replace old and worn pieces, with fabrics carefully chosen for their long-term durability and wipe-clean practicality. The end result was exactly what the client wanted: not so much a radical makeover as a careful updating and tidying up, all performed with minimal disruption and at a very modest cost.
