Europa Group first approached Cotswold Business Interiors with a vision, to fully utilise the canteen space throughout the whole of the working day. The original canteen featured out of date furniture and plain white walls, underutilised and uninspiring to staff the space was in definite need of a renovation. Europa Group have been heavily involved in the design and development of the space, providing vital knowledge of the users, volume and requirements of the finished environment. The 2D plans outlined a variety of different areas for the staff, to cater for individuals who wish for some peace and quiet in their break, to larger groups of younger staff who wish to socialise with friends in different departments. The walls already featured bar height sockets and were begging to have standing height units to partner them, with the addition of a statement coloured edge, they completed the theme of the room perfectly. Europa Group invested the time in accompanying their Designer and Project Manager, within Cotswold Business Interiors, to a suppliers working Showroom, solidifying that a social ‘hub’ at the centre of the building was absolutely the direction they wished to develop the space into. After providing 3D visuals of the proposed space, the colour scheme was chosen and the order placed.
The lead time was used to plan an official opening, and when installation day came, the project was still kept a secret from the staff. The big staff reveal presented a space that; relieved busy meeting spaces using meeting pods, informal collaboration high tables, coffee shop style long sofas with stool pairings and large bench tables that can be used for brainstorming meetings or lunch seating. The overall aesthetic of the room boasts a company that cares and invests in its staff, that is innovate, energetic and encouraging.
